From the Desk of Councilman Alan Maisel

April, 2015

As you read this, flowers, grass and trees will be starting to bloom, and many people will be experiencing Spring Fever.

While winter may now be a distant memory and something which we would like to forget, many reminders of its severe weather remain. As a result of the enormous amount of snow and ice which plagued us for many months, extensive damage was done to our streets. While NYC DOT has been working diligently to fill the abundance of potholes, the job seems to be endless.

We are here to help with a wide variety of issues. If you see potholes, broken curbs, dying trees, clogged catch basins or lights which have been damaged and are not working, please contact my office.  We will be happy to contact the appropriate agency, which will help to expedite the repair.

As always, my staff and I are here to assist you with any concerns that you may have.  Please do not hesitate to contact us at 718-241-9330.

Councilman Alan Maisel

46th District

From Senator Marty Golden:

In May, I will be hosting my Annual Senior Fairs, this year taking place in Bay Ridge on May 14 at St. Patrick Church, 9511 4th Avenue, and in Marine Park on May 29 at St. Columba, 2245 Kimball Street. Both events will be taking place between 12-3PM.

My office will be hosting Mammogram Screenings on May 21 outside my Bay Ridge Office and June 12 outside the Marine Park office, in association with the American-Italian Cancer Foundation.  No cost mammograms will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on both dates. An appointment must be made by calling 1-877-628-9090. Women interested in appointments must be over 40 years of age and have not had a mammogram in the past year.
I look forward to seeing all of you at these events.
